The ISPS Code requires the Company Security Officer (CSO) to advise the level of threats likely to be encountered by the ship, using “appropriate” security assessments.
- CSO to advise Threat Level – MarSec Level indicator
- Ship Security Plan (SSP) Requirement – must have an approved and fully implemented SSP. An SSP that is a “living document” - is understood by all crewmembers and contains up-to-date information.
